I like to always pick out the positive points in a piece, even if overall I am not enamoured by it.
I tend to point out grammatical and spelling errors.
I will be honest, but not unkind  |
I use a three colored ribbon system, green, blue, and red, to measure my feelings on the strength of that area of the review.
The color of the ribbon to the left of the category denotes how I feel the work measured up to the catigory.
A Green Ribbon 
Means I feel the work passed and met this criteria.
A Blue Ribbon  Means I feel this is somehow incomplete, or weak and will explain as best I can and offer any suggestions I can think of.
A Red Ribbon  Means I think the work is missing this.
A Face Palm  Ether standing alone or alongside a ribbon Will mean I don't know, or I'm not sure.
This Style I apply to both short stories and poetry.
I'm just learning so please understand I need to have limits, which are
word count for short stories is 1,500
Poetry line count is no more that forty lines please.
At least for now until I get better at this. |

I try to keep my tone respectful and supportive because I believe feedback should encourage, not discourage. My goal is to help writers grow, not just improve one piece. |
| My goal is to give a detailed, organized review that highlights the positive characteristics of the work, while also touching on any areas that might benefit from some editing. All of my reviews are, of course, just suggestions and meant to be helpful to the author. I am always available via WDC email if more input is needed on any aspect of the review. |

My reviewing style varies. I may do a little edit if possible or pinpoint what I think is incorrect. My review is merely base on what I feel about your piece. If I enjoy it, I say it. If not, I tell you why I'm not.
I often do reviews on all Poetry Items- regardless of the genres, styles and the way it was written. However if you like, you can request a short story, chapter not the entire book or novel, articles and essays, etc.

| I have a review template that is only used for in depth reviews, usually those that are specifically requested. These will be as comprehensive as I can manage, including everything I have noticed in reading the piece. Most of my reviews, however, are more in the nature of reactions to the piece with brief notes on things I find particularly good and suggestions on dealing with any obvious flaws in the writing. |
| While I consider myself apt enough to provide decent, kind feedback, I'm not the sort of person to laud a man's writings. Instead, I seek to find smaller, more intricate points of interest within their writings so that I might offer suggestions and feedback so that they might better aid the flow of their work. |
| Please do not ask me to review your item if you do not want an honest response. I tend to be blunt, but if I can't say anything nice or don't understand your piece, I won't review it. I believe in the peanut butter sardine sandwich approach to critiquing work...something good, something bad, more good. |
| Friends, 1. I always like to look at the positive aspects of the story I am reviewing and highlight them. 2. This is because I firmly believe in the principle, "The best building is that building which stands on the strongest foundation." 3. | I focus mainly on stylistic aspects of your work and favour writing inline critiques so as to make sure that you know exactly what I am referring to. I believe in constructive criticism. However, I am honest and, though I will do my best to convey my points in the most tactful way possible, I will not give a good rating to a work that does not deserve it. I do my best to adapt to your needs and specifications, and like to post any useful links I think would help you in writing your story. I also love to follow-ups via PM's, so if you have any questions (or if you want to defend something I criticized, it happens), I will be glad to answer, clarify, or just start a discussion with you via email. |

| I start with the reader experience - did the story pull me in and keep me engaged? From there, I'll dig into what worked and what didn't, focusing on the elements that impacted my experience: character motivation, pacing, whether the emotional beats landed. I use 5 key questions to structure my feedback when needed, but my goal is always to help writers see their story through a reader's eyes. I don't edit for grammar or spelling, but I'll flag it if it pulls me out of the story. |
| I don't like using a template. I don't like correcting spelling. I don't like correcting grammar. I don't want to be your editor. I enjoy discussing what I have read. I am very happy to tell people what I have liked and what I have disliked. There is not a lot that I dislike. |
| I will be honest: I just want GP. However, when I get paid to do something, it is a job, and I don't mess around with jobs. Do note that my spelling is sloppy. I would really take any GP above 100 but WdC doesn't let me. |
